Members of the faculty should assemble for the Founders’ Day convocation Thursday, Oct. 9, by 10:45 a.m., in academic regalia and proper order on Main Quad. New faculty members should contact their department chair or Scott Peterson, the grand marshal, for further details. Faculty are asked to request all December 2008, May 2009 and August 2009 graduates to attend the Founders’ Day convocation in order to participate in the “Robing of the Seniors” ceremony during the convocation. Please announce to your students that all classes scheduled to meet from 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. and 12:30-1:45 p.m. will not meet. Also, please allow participating seniors to leave 9:30 a.m. classes a few minutes early in order to assemble on the Quad by 10:30 a.m.
Friday, Oct. 10, will be the last day to drop courses.
Faculty senate will meet Friday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m., in the Merrill Room, Reynolds Hall.
Mid-semester week begins Monday, Oct. 13.
Wednesday, Oct. 15, will be the last day for deans to make changes to the spring class schedule draft.
Academic council will meet Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 3:30 p.m., in the Merrill Room, Reynolds Hall.
Administrative council will meet Thursday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m., in Ramsay Hall, room 106.
Graduate council will meet Thursday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m., in Bloch Hall 201.
There will be no classes on Friday, Oct. 17.
The undergraduate curriculum and standards committee (formerly the GEC) will meet Friday, Oct. 17, at 2 p.m., in Comer Hall 303.
The QEP team will meet Friday, Oct. 17, at 2 p.m., in the Hill House classroom.
The spring class schedule will be available online Monday, Oct. 20.
The spring class schedule adviser copies will be distributed to departments Monday, Oct. 20.
