The annual Move-In Day will take place Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 8 a.m.-noon, and the Housing and Residence Life office is seeking volunteers to help students move items into their rooms or to serve refreshments. Move-in Day marks the beginning of college life for many students, and the goal of the Housing office is to make this day as easy and enjoyable as possible for everyone. Over the last few years, it has become a Montevallo tradition for faculty, staff, students, alumni and members of the local community to join together to help our new students move in. The students and their parents really appreciate the assistance and truly feel welcome to the University of Montevallo! Shifts are available from 7:45-10 a.m. and from 10 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Those interested in helping should contact the Housing and Residence Life office by Wednesday, Aug. 19. Interested individuals may contact the Housing office at Ext. 6235. All volunteers should report to the Housing and Residence Life office, located on the first floor west wing of Main Hall, prior to the beginning of each shift to pick up and put on an official UM T-shirt, which will serve as a small token of thanks and as an indicator for the students moving in that you are there to assist them in the move.
