University of Montevallo Honor Band Festival
We
are proud to announce the 2012 University of Montevallo Honor Band Festival,
March 2-4, 2012. The festival will include opportunities to perform standard
concert band repertoire and some new pieces as well. The UM Wind Ensemble
will kick off the weekend with a concert on Friday night, March 2, at 7:30
p.m. at Palmer Auditorium.

The deadline for application is February 10, 2012. We reserve
the right to invite a limited number to fill the positions available. Upper
class students will have first preference, but we encourage young talented
students to apply as well. Please rank your students fairly with 1 being
the highest. Required musical excerpts will be exercise No. 1 from
the Alabama Senior High All-State Audition List. Percussionists must choose
the instrument on which to audition and play the appropriate excerpt. A
listing of the 2012 Senior High All-State audition pieces may be found on
the AMEA website.
