Piano Day

The Third Annual Piano Day at the University of Montevallo will be Saturday, November 5, 2011. Admission is free, and the day will include mini-lectures, a masterclass, and a recital designed for intermediate and advanced piano students and their teachers. Parents are also welcome.  The masterclass instruction and mini-lecture presentations will be led by Cynthia Jones MacCrae and Amy McLelland.  All events will be held in LeBaron Recital Hall in the Davis Music Building. Lunch will be on your own, and a list of local restaurants will be furnished.

Teachers are invited to choose up to three students, age 12 to 18, to perform on the afternoon recital and one student to perform on the morning masterclass. Students will be added to the masterclass and recital on a first-come, first-served basis. Participation is not necessary in order to attend the day of activities, and there is no limit to the number of students a teacher can bring. Reserve spots for the masterclass or recital as early as possible by e-mailing Dr. Cynthia Jones MacCrae at jonescp@montevallo.edu, phone 205-665-6667. No pre-registration is required for attendance, but an RSVP is appreciated by Friday, October 28.
