| ABOUT US The Community School of Music has provided quality music education to our communities for nearly forty years. We are proud to provide non-credit music lessons to people of all ages and levels of abilities at an affordable price and convenient location! All of our instructors are professional musicians that are actively performing and teaching music for a living. Most hold advanced music degrees and have many years of teaching and performing experience. Our instructors provide lessons in a caring and safe environment and work hard to schedule lessons at convenient times for most students. Please check out the instructor’s bio page for more individual information about our instructors. We provide lessons on a variety of instruments including private instruction in: piano, voice, guitar (classical and pick style), violin, percussion, trumpet, flute, French horn, trombone, clarinet, mandolin, ukulele, bass, organ, and saxophone. The Community School of Music provides a free-of-charge weekly music class in the Fall and Spring semesters for children in the community. The Musicianship class is open for students’ ages 5-12 and each class is 45 minutes long. In this class children work with University of Montevallo Music Education Majors and discover their musical potential! Students will: play interactive music games that help develop music reading and rhythm skills, learn about famous composers, listen and learn about music from around the world and create their own compositions to share with family and friends. Recitals are held, free of charge, at LeBaron Recital Hall on the University of Montevallo campus. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable performance skills in a professional environment. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Please check our calendar for the next upcoming recitals! We welcome any questions or comments you have about our program and hope to see you studying with us in the near future!
