Natalie
Dixon is an almuna of the University of Montevallo where she is
currently an Adjunct Instructor of Voice in the Theater
department. She received a Bachelor of Music in Voice
Performance studying with Dr. Melanie Williams and held several
scholarships throughout her studies. While at UM she performed
such roles as Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte, Pamina in
The Magic Flute, and Violet in Sideshow The Musical.
She also performed in opera scenes productions and was involved
on and off stage with the purple side. Natalie was also a member
and soloist with the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and
University Chorale.
Natalie most
recently received a Master of Music in Voice performance from
Louisiana State University while on scholarship and studying
with Patricia O’Neill. While at LSU, Natalie performed the roles
of Desiree Armfeldt in A Little Night Music and Nella in
Gianni Schicchi. She was also a performer, assistant
director, and director of the L’Opera Lagniappe scenes
productions and the assistant director for the recent world
premiere video recording of David Anram’s Twelfth Night.
Natalie was also a member and soloist with the A cappella Choir
and Chamber Choir at LSU.
Natalie has
also placed at both Alabama and Louisiana National Association
of Teachers of Singing competitions and The Birmingham Music
Club competition. She has performed in the Harrower Opera
Program in Atlanta, Georgia, La Musica Lirica opera program in
Novafeltria, Italy, and the Schlern International Music Festival
in Sudtirol, Italy. Natalie was the soprano soloist with the
ProArte Chorale’s performance of the Faure Requiem. She was a
member and soloist with the Masterworks Chorale and Emerald
Coast Chorale in Panama City, Florida, performing in the states,
Canada, the United Kingdom, and Italy. She was also a member and
soloist with the Montevallo Chorale performing in the southeast
and France. |
