The McNair Faculty Mentors are instrumental to the success of our McNair Scholars. Their role is to mentor and directly supervise the McNair
Scholars during their research internship. It is expected that each Faculty Mentor will work with their Scholar during the spring semester to prepare a research proposal for the Undergraduate Research Committee and upon approval, begin final preparation for the summer research internship. During the summer research internship Faculty Mentors will supervise the Scholars as they conduct research, assist Scholars in preparing their work for publication and presentation, and provide support and motivation for their Scholar to succeed in both their undergraduate and graduate level academic pursuits.
We are always happy to come to classes and talk to students about the program. Just give us a few days notice so that we can prepare the best presentation for your class.
We conduct monthly seminars, on topics related to success in graduate school, for the Scholars and are always looking for presenters. If you would like to conduct a presentation on something that will benefit the Scholars, please give us a call @ 665-6570.
The McNair Scholars Program is always looking for students who are eligible for the program and could benefit the most from its many resources. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO LOCATE THESE STUDENTS. Please direct them to our office in Farmer Hall to pick up a brochure and application.
