Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS)

In addition to completing the General Education core, 39 hours in Mass Communication courses are required:

The BA requires completion of 101,102,201,202 sequence of a foreign language.

The BS requires 8 additional hours of science and/or math beyond the General Education core. No more than 42 hours of MC courses may be applied to the130 or more hours required to graduate.

UM General Education Core Satisfied in Communication Arts

* All undergraduate students at the University must complete COMS 101, Foundations in Oral Communication. * Introduction to Theatre, THEA 120, and MC 325, Survey of American Cinema, are options for fulfillment of the Fine Arts requirement. * Several courses in Mass Communication and in Theatre help satisfy the writing reinforcement requirement: MC 200, 220, 255, 353, 355, 365, COMS 320, 430, and THEA 300, 371, 417, 418, 471.
