Faculty, staff, and students with a valid University of Montevallo I.D. may
checkout available equipment through the Malone Center. This equipment is
available for University-related purposes only with the highest priority
given to uses associated with official classes or instruction. All other
uses are subject to equipment availability.
Persons
checking out this equipment assume responsibility for exercising care to
protect items from theft, loss, or damage and to return equipment as
scheduled. The University of Montevallo holds borrowers accountable for the
value of the equipment. Financial responsibility for the replacement or
repair in case of negligent damage or loss rests fully with the individual
checking-out the equipment. The Director of the Malone Center and the Dean
of the College of Education will make the final determination of negligence
and associated repair or replacement costs.
Repeated
failure to return equipment on time or in its condition at the time of
checkout may result in the suspension of the borrower’s checkout privileges.
When
checking out computers or computer-equipped multimedia carts, the following
special conditions apply: No software applications may be installed or
removed from the computer's hard drive without prior approval of a Malone
Center staff member. No modifications of any type may be made to the system
software or hardware.
We hope
these checkout procedures improve our service and lead to fewer conflicts
regarding availability of our equipment.
