Management Information Systems Research Guide

Finding Library Materials     
Library Catalog
The Library Catalog is often the best place to begin research. Search by author, title, subject, keyword, or a variety of other specialized searches.

Several examples of standard Management Information Systems subject headings appropriate for use in the Main Catalog when searching for Management Information Systems materials are:

  • Database management
  • Database management -- Computer programs (Subject heading DATABASE MANAGEMENT and the Subdivision COMPUTER PROGRAMS)
  • Electronic commerce
  • Electronic data interchange (Narrower topic for ELECTRONIC COMMERCE)
  • Programming (electronic computers)
  • Computer algorithms (Broader topic for PROGRAMMING)
  • System analysis
  • Telecommunication

Electronic Resources
Databases
Electronic access to journal articles is available from the Databases page.  Most databases can be searched using author, title or subject in either basic or advanced search formats. The results of a search will include either a citation, a citation and abstract, or a citation, abstract and full text of the article depending on the database searched.

Listed below are databases you could use to locate information about MIS.  You can access these, and other databases, from the Databases by name page or the Databases by subject page.

Includes over 2,000 full-text titles, which cover all aspects of business practice, including technology. Coverage starts in 1995.

Includes nearly 850 titles, some with links to full text. Coverage of technology and other business disciplines

Coverage of some 1,800 journals starting in 1940. Includes several programming and computer science journals

Full text for nearly 3,180 scholarly journals, including more than 1,500 peer-reviewed titles. Covering virtually every area of academic study, this database offers full text information dating as far back as 1985.
