Apparel Construction and Analysis

 

Objective: to learn how to keep up with current trends and/or new information in fashion in such sources as DNR (Daily News Record), WWD (Women’s Wear Daily), HFN (Home Furnishings Network), etc.

 

• DNR (Daily News Record) [men’s wear fashion] is a weekly newspaper, shelved in the Browsing section of the Library.
• HFN (Home Furnishings Daily) is a weekly newspaper, shelved in the Browsing section of the Library.
• WWD (Women’s Wear Daily) is a weekly newspaper that is shelved in the Browsing section of the Library. In addition, one can view selected articles online via the Library’s Web page:

Then select “Find Articles…” and from the drop down menu

Then select “Electronic journals” and type the journal, magazine or newspaper title.

Then select “Subject or Subject keyword…” and type “textile fabrics” or appropriate terms

 

• For trends and or new information in journals or magazines, go to:

Then select “Find articles…”

Then select Academic Search Premier

Then type appropriate terms such as: textile fabrics, textile fibers, textile industry, clothing, etc.
