physical activity and health
promotion. Instruction within the
programs provide a course of study
that offers the flexibility to
prepare the student to attain
meaningful employment in accordance
with the ever-changing needs of

One of our
goals in Kinesiology Programs is to link some of our courses with certifications
that the students can earn by completing the course and then by signing up,
taking and passing the appropriate certification examinations. We believe that
having these certifications linked to our courses will help to make our students
more prepared and marketable. So far, the following certifications are in
place:

KNES 300 –
First Aid and Prevention – American Red Cross First Aid Certification and
CPR Certifications for Infant, Child, & Adult the AED Certification will be
added soon.

Coaching of Team Sports – PREPARE for the Unexpected for Coaches (Injury
Prevention Strategies) from The National Center for Sports Safety and the
National Athletic Trainer’s Association (Students who pass the Certification
Test receive a certificate that will be needed when they are hired as a
coaches)

Coaching of Team Sports – American Sport Education Program Coaching
Principles Certification Program. (Students who take the course and take and
pass the ASEP Coaching Certification Test will earn their Coaching
Certification and will also be listed on the ASEP National Coaches Registry)

Health-Fitness Program Design – National Council on Strength and Fitness
Personal Trainer Certification (Students who take and pass the certification
test will be certified NCSF Personal Trainers)
