SACS Reaffirmation
Since 1925, The University of Montevallo has been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the body recognized by the United States Department of Education to accredit educational institutions in Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Latin America.
In 2011, the University will complete our
periodic reaffirmation process. Ongoing
efforts to prepare for the reaffirmation
process have already started on campus
during the fall of 2008 with the launch of a
Compliance Readiness Audit and the
initiation of topic exploration for the
Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). Through the
leadership of the reaffirmation teams and
the involvement of the entire campus
community and its many stakeholders, SACS
reaffirmation serves to assure constituents
and the public of the quality and integrity
of our institution and programs and to help
us make continuous improvements. These
outcomes are achieved through rigorous
internal and external review processes
during which the institution is evaluated
against a common set of standards.
As the reaffirmation process progresses,
this site will be updated. If you have any
questions about SACS or our reaffirmation,
please feel free to contact us.
