International House

The goal of the International House is to offer one-stop services for international students interested in attending the University of Montevallo; current students interested in study away, either outside the U.S. or with the National Student Exchange; and faculty and other shareholders with an interest in  intercultural and governmental activities of the university.

 Elaine Webb is the International House Coordinator, responsible for scheduling and much of the interaction with international students. The office depends heavily on the experience of Elaine’s 20 year tenure with the University of Montevallo. Many of the international student activities are featured on her Facebook page. 

Kazuo Moriya is the Director of International Services. His goal is to combine campus-wide international activities under one umbrella to produce that one-stop service venue. Kazuo graduated from Montevallo in 1989, has worked extensively in the international business field, and joined our team in 2008.

Jim Farris is Special Assistant to the President with responsibilities in university diversity issues, study away, and governmental relations. He is the university’s Chief Diversity Officer and the Campus Coordinator for the National Student Exchange. Jim joined Montevallo in 2007 and has13 years experience in higher education.
