Call for entries

The Harbert Writing Center
Poetry & Short Story Competition
Fall 2007
Entries will be accepted in two divisions:
Poetry:
Each entrant may submit up to five poems.
Short Story/Prose:
Each entrant may submit up to two prose pieces, fiction or nonfiction, up to 2000 words each.
Official Rules:
· Entrants must be UM students registered during the Fall 2007 semester.
· Short Story/prose entries must be typed and double-spaced. Poems must be typed.
· All entries must be original works composed by those entering the competition.
· Each entry must be accompanied by a cover page with the following information:
name, address, telephone number, email address, and the title of the entry.
· No identifying information other than the title should appear on the work itself

Prizes:
No monetary prizes are available; however, first, second, and third
place winners will present their works at the Harbert Writing Center Fall
2007 Poetry & Short Story Reading.
Excerpts from winners' works may be published on bookmarks.
Harbert Writing Center employees will serve as judges for the competition and are not eligible to participate.
