Originally from Frankfort, KY, Glenda Conway earned her Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Louisville. She began working with the writing center in Fall 1995. She most enjoys "the pleasure of realizing someone has actually learned something as a result of his of her session with me."
Cory Lockhart Cory is a senior English major about to complete his final semester at the University of Montevallo with a minor in philosophy. Cory has worked in the writing center for the last two years and appreciates the varying levels of skill and craftsmanship that each individual student brings to the writing center. He approaches papers with a blend of constructive encouragement and criticism, highlighting the best and worst portions of each student's work. Cory hopes that his experience in the writing center will contribute significantly to his development as a paper-writer and that this experience will also be valuable in terms of becoming an English instructor, which is Cory's ultimate goal. Cory reads, writes poetry and prose, and plays music in his spare time.
Quinn White Quinn is working on her MA in English. After graduating she plans on pursuing a doctoral degree in jurisprudence. In addition to being a tutor in the writing center, Quinn enjoys reading the paper in the morning, movies from the 1930's, coffee, and dictionaries.
Katie Dunne Katie Dunne is an English major in her junior year at the University of Montevallo. She has worked at the Harbert Writing Center since the Fall of 2008.
David Hughes David Hughes is a history/political science major who is, additionally, pursuing a pre-law minor. He wishes to obtain a career in law. David does not enjoy Florida football, but he is more than interested in striking up a conversation regarding Tennessee football. David is a non-MLA conformist; in fact, if you need assistance with APA formatting or Chicago Style formatting, he is most likely the tutor with which you wish to seek conference. David enjoys fishing and classic rock. He despises that contemptuous abomination referred to as rap/hip-hop. David will not assist you with your legal troubles; rather, he will assist you with your research/essay abilities. Don't irritate him. He might just be prosecuting you one day.
Jamie King Jamie is a senior English major with a French minor. She has been working in the Harbert Writing Center since September of 2008. She is planning on pursuing a master's degree and a doctoral degree in English with a concentration in Modern/Postmodern British Literature, Children's Literature, and/or Young Adult Literature. She is also a member and officer of Sigma Tau Delta--the English Honor Society on campus. As a student and writer, Jamie is very meticulous, but she promises she will present a more laidback approach to student's writing. She wants the student to feel comfortable sharing his/her work with her.
