Holidays

Before You Leave Holidays
All residence halls except Peck Hall are closed during school break periods (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Holiday, and Spring Break) and residents are not allowed to stay in their rooms while the halls are closed.

You do not have to move your belongings out of your room for Thanksgiving, Christmas/Holiday, or Spring break, but you may not leave personal belongings in your room over summer break.

Before you leave for a holiday, be sure you follow the guidelines listed here. Your room will be checked after you leave for compliance. Failure to comply will result in a minimum $25 penalty per violation.

Before You Leave For The Holidays...
Take all trash outside to the trash bin
Vacuum your room
Christmas/Holiday break - unplug everything
Spring break and Thanksgiving - unplug everything except answering machines, aquariums, and refrigerators
Turn off your lights
Check signs in the building to find out if you should turn off your blower or leave it on
Lock your window and lower your blinds
Lock your room

Fall 2009

Residence Halls Close on Friday December 18, 2009 at 5:00 PM  for all residents except those living in Peck Hall. 

Clean your room:

Take all trash outside to the dumpster

Vacuum or sweep your floor

Clean your bathroom and kitchen (where applicable) '

Secure your room:

Lower your windows and blinds, Lock your windows 'Turn off lights and put heater fan on low ' 

Check out of your room

Move out all  belongings, sign your inventory form and turn in your key to a staff member. 

If you rented a microfridge, clean it out and leave it there. 

Return any UM furniture you placed in storage (See an RA on duty in your building for dates and times to move furniture)  

Clean and secure your room

Fill out a Refund Request Form/Exit Survey  (You may pick these up from the Housing Office or see an RA on duty in your building)  if you are not returning to live on campus in the Spring. 

 You will be fined  for any non-compliance with the above guidelines.

The minimum fine is $50.00
