Computers Individual residence hall rooms are

e-mail. To connect to the network from
your room, your computer must have a
network (Ethernet) card installed and a
connection cable. Both can be purchased
from the UM Bookstore. Installation of

the resident’s responsibilities.
Individual
Rooms Due to the differences between rooms
within each of the buildings, individual
room sizes are not available. Some
general room sizes are available in the
Residence
Hall Descriptions page. It is
advisable to purchase carpeting or
window dressing after you have had a
chance to take measurements.
Lofts cannot be used in Hanson Hall. You may want to
talk with your roommate before deciding
on bedspreads and other extras. You are
encouraged to personalize your room, but
be sure you follow the personalization
guidelines published in the Housing
& Residence Life policies and
procedures booklet. That information is
also available in the
Make
Your Room More Like Home! page. All
rooms are furnished with regular length
twin-sized bed(s), desk(s), and desk
chairs(s).
Occupancy
Options There are three housing options
available to residents at the University
of Montevallo:
Single-Occupancy Rooms Located in Main
Hall, Fuller
4th floor, Napier 3rd floor and
Wallace; these
rooms are furnished for one person,
and under normal occupancy conditions,
only one person will be assigned to
that room. The number of single rooms
is limited. Current residents usually
fill most of these rooms, leaving very
few for new assignments. Double-Occupancy Rooms All other rooms on campus are
considered double occupancy and are
furnished for two people. Private Rooms After the beginning of the term, if
space becomes available in your
double-occupancy room, you may request
it private. You will be responsible
for paying the difference between the
rates. In the fall term, on-campus
occupancy is high, and initial
assignments to private rooms,
especially for women, are rare.
