Acceptance into the program

Students who wish to be admitted to the Honors Program  must first apply for regular admission to the University of Montevallo.  Entering freshmen are invited into the program if their ACT score is a 27 or higher.  These students can then enroll in the Honors Sections of Freshman History and Freshman English.  

Students who do not have a 27 ACT score may still apply to the program through letters of recommendation from faculty members.  The Director of the Honors Program and the Honors Board will then evaluate any recommendations and decide if acceptance is warranted.

Students may be admitted either as incoming freshmen or after a semester's coursework at the University with at least a 3.2 GPA.

Montevallo Honors Organization (MHO)

All Honors Students can chose to become members of the MHO.  The MHO organizes a variety of activities throughout the year, including social, sporting, and academic events.  There are minimal membership dues.
