Delta Chi
DC
Delta Chi Fraternity at the University of Montevallo prides itself on being the largest fraternity on campus and also being one of two fraternities to be lucky enough to have a house. Everyone has different expectations coming to college. Grades, social life, the college experience, meeting new people, and more. Delta Chi offers all of these things.
Members of Delta Chi are heavily involved on campus holding positions on SGA, IFC, Montevallo Masters, Orientation Leaders, and more. We also have Varsity athletes on the Golf and Basketball teams. Delta Chi was the proud winners of Intramurals in 2003-2004, as well as Greek Week Champions.
You may have a view of fraternities that all they do is drink keg beer and hit on girls. Although this is far from the case, Delta Chi tries hard to fill its calendar with social events and parties. This year we have several parties already planned including our annual Indian Party, Reaper’s Ball, Southern Heritage Band Party featuring Trotline, Knight Errant 80s Band Party featuring U.S., Fall Formal in New Orleans, White Carnation Ball, Christmas Cocktail, Ski Lodge Party, and more. And that’s not counting the countless nights spent hanging out at the fraternity house.
We pride ourselves on trying to bring maximum fun to our fraternity house. There are 7 brothers who live in the house currently, which features a basketball court, volleyball court, pool and ping pong tables, and a stage for band parties. Plans are underway for a $500,000 expansion to the house that will be on par with fraternity houses at Alabama and Auburn featuring a party room and more.
Some say that joining a fraternity is buying your friends, while joining Delta Chi is joining a brotherhood that cannot be explained.
