Student Activity Center
Groundbreaking for the new Student Activity Center took place at the University of Montevallo’s annual Founders’ Day ceremonies in October, 2002.The first building to be constructed on campus since the Mass Communication Building was completed in 1991, the $11 million structure is a defining facility on the historic campus, reflecting the vitality of student life at the University of Montevallo.
The new state-of-the-art Center, which opened on August 29, 2004, serves as a focal point of interests and activities on campus.
The Center includes facilities for aerobics, swimming, racquetball, fitness walking, and weight training.
In addition, it serves as the home court for Montevallo’s volleyball and basketball teams and contains the University’s Athletic Hall of Fame and athletic staff offices.
With an arena seating capacity of more than 3,000, the Center will showcase a variety of convocations and concerts.
