For those of you who have taken French or Spanish in high school and if you plan to enroll in a language course this fall 2008, we invite you to take the foreign language placement exam sponsored by the Department of English and Foreign Languages.
For incoming students, this exam will be available during your pre-registration day on campus every summer. We invite you to come to the Comer Hall Foreign Language Laboratory at 9:00 am located in Room 108.
The exam should take no longer than 45 minutes to complete, which will allow you plenty of time to begin your pre-Admission activities scheduled to begin at 10:30 am.
If you meet the following criteria,
§ you have taken some foreign language classes in high school, or in another institution and
§ you plan to enroll in a foreign language class in fall semester, and
§ you would like to take the foreign language placement exam during pre-registration,
please email Penny Allen at Pallen1@montevallo.edu or call her between the hours of 8am and 12pm at (205) 665-6410. Please indicate which day you will be on campus for Pre-Registration and for which language you will be taking the placement exam. If you have further questions, please contact Dr. Stacey Ayotte at AyotteSB@montevallo.edu (for French) or Dr. Leonor Vazquez at VazquezL@montevallo.edu (for Spanish). Upon receiving your email or phone inquiry, we will register you to take the placement exam. We look forward to seeing you this summer. Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact us via email or phone.
For current UM students, this exam is available for you at any time during the semester. Please contact any foreign language professor to schedule a time for the exam.
