This course covers the material for FRN 101 and 102 in one
semester. Emphasis on the development of basic communication skills in reading,

not be taken by students who have credit for either FRN 101 or FRN 102.

Studies in phonetics and phonology of French.
Emphasis on pronunciation of contemporary French.
At the instructor’s discretion, the course may involve studies in
linguistic analysis and transcription. Prerequisite: FRN 202 or FRN 250 or

Emphasis on understanding commercial vocabulary and comprehending authentic
texts, as well as the creation of dialogues and oral presentations.
