The internship is completed during the spring semester of the senior year for 6 hours credit. A minimum of 200 hours of interaction and leadership at the internship site is required. Internships are arranged by students and should fit the student's interests, abilities, and need for experience.

A minor from outside the Department of family and Consumer Sciences is required. The minor is intended to completed the major and to assist students in capitalizing on their personal aptitudes and interests. Suggested minors are business, deaf studies, English, human services, mass communication, music, and other fields.
