Faculty Senate
September 1, 2006
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m.
Members Present: Stacey Ayotte, Sally Bennett Bell, Kristin Gilbert, Jason Cooper (for Kathy Lowe), Sherry Ford, Michael Patton, Stephanie Puleo, Elizabeth Thrower, Eric Vaccarella, Jill Wicknick, Michael Patton, Lanny McMinn, Michelle Duran-McClure
Approval of Previous Minutes: Thrower moved to approve, Patton seconded. Passed.
Introductions:
- Senators introduced themselves.
President’s Report:
· Has begun attending various campus meetings.
· Made plea for senator to set example with involvement in “Campaign for Montevallo.” Slogan is “Make it Happen.”
· Verdict for Swamp case was favorable for University.
Past President’s Report: None
New Business:
- Presidential Inauguration
- Faculty Senate President will be a part of the Presidential Introduction.
- Fall Assembly
- Fall 2006 Assembly will be Wednesday, October 18th at 3:30 p.m. at King House.
- Establishment of Annual Agenda items:
- Faculty Governance top priority.
- Pool Hours:
- Emails to Billy Cannon to request additional pool time. Senators announce in own Department and College meetings. Staff also asked to email
- Eric Vaccarella to construct sample email for dissemination by next week.
o Other items tabled until Faculty Governance addressed.
Old Business:
- Faculty Satisfaction Survey:
o Jason Cooper has agreed to continue heading this project.
o Thrower agreed to assist with analysis.

o Chamber of Commerce – Patton
Announcements:
- Library has revamped its website. Send comments.
Patton moved that the meeting be adjourned. Thrower seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Adjourned at 3:05 p.m.
