The Department of English offers an undergraduate major in English, a major in English with concentration in Language Arts designed for those planning careers in secondary education, and a minor in English. The department also offers a Master's Degree in English Literature. The undergraduate and graduate bulletins, linked above, provide details of program requirements. The undergraduate bulletin also provides a list of courses offered by the department. Additional information, as well as semester course offerings, can be obtained from the department office, x6420.
The department also administers the university's Writing Across the Curriculum Program. Before graduation, every student must complete four courses (12 credit hours) designated as writing intensive (WR). For a list of courses currently approved to meet the requirement, check the inside front page of the latest course offerings (issued every Fall, Spring, and Summer). For more information about Writing Across the Curriculum, WR designation approval forms, or a schedule of instructor training sessions, please contact Glenda Conway, x6425.
