Michael Patton, Ph.D. Michael Patton has been at Montevallo since 1996. His teaching interests include all areas of Philosophy, since he is the only philosopher here at UM. He is on sabbatical for the Fall of 2007, during which he will be researching and writing a book about David Hume and starting work on a response to David Horowitz’s attack on the academic world. Michael has recently published in the areas of Ethics and Metaphysics. He is proud of the work the Philosophy Club does each year, especially on the Life Raft Debate. He enjoys trying to get a major in Philosophy established at Alabama’s State Liberal Arts University, living with his wife and cats in Montevallo, and referring to himself in the third person.
