Our Mission

Welcome!  The Division of Academic Affairs is the University’s largest and most diverse unit.  Our mission is to coordinate, support, and advocate for the highest quality academic programs in the arts and sciences and in selected professions, undergraduate and graduate.  The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, in concert with professional staff, faculty leaders, and the faculty in general, is responsible for promoting the primacy of academic values and development on campus; however, we also are responsible for working with other units on campus, such as the Division of Student Affairs, to promote the fullest and most meaningful development of our students.  It is our aim to be true to the University of Montevallo’s mission as Alabama’s designated public liberal arts university.  Finally, it is our hope that you will find the information you need here, or that you will contact any of our offices and find our staff in the Division of Academic Affairs to be interested and helpful.
