Admission to the Junior Class

Beginning Fall 2011 the Freshman class and New Transfer students will have to be admitted into the Junior Class to continue to major in Communication Science and Disorders (CSD).  Admission to the Junior class is required for a student to continue towards a B.S. degree in CSD.  The following are the requirements for admission to the Junior Class:

Complete the required 60 hours for junior status
Complete specified courses in Speech Language Pathology with a C or better in each course:

CSD 101:  Survey of Communication Disorders
CSD 253:  Applied Phonetics in Communication Disorders
               CSD 291:  Normal Language Development

Maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or better.
CSD courses are only available to students who are declared CSD majors.   However, CSD 101 is available to students who may be considering declaring Speech-Language Pathology as their major and are seeking more information about the profession. CSD 385 is also open to students regardless of major to explore Cultural Diversity Issues.
