Overall, 102 students responded and rated items of importance such as online access to the library, high speed internet, adding online courses, campus email, computer replacement, reliability of the network, and remote access to campus technology and systems using a 5 point scale where 5 = Very Important and 1 = Not Important. The item of most importance to 99 of the 102 students was High speed internet, receiving an average score of 4.86 on the 5 point scale, followed closely by wireless network in the residence halls, receiving an average score of 4.85 from 92 students and Online registration, receiving and average score of 4.83 from 101 students.
Students also scored their average satisfaction with the Help Desk on a 5 point scale where 5 = Very Satisfied and 1 = Not Satisfied. Eighty-six students gave the Service hours for the After Hours Help Desk an average score of 4.54, the highest score in this group of questions.
Students were next asked to rate their satisfaction with ForUM Email and the transition from UMail using the same 5 point scale. In this category, the highest average score was a 4.26 from 88 students for the availability of information on the ForUM Email transition followed closely by Quality of communications on the ForUM Email transition with a 4.25 from 89 students and Features of the ForUM Email system with an average score of 4.24 from 90 students.
Additionally, 86 students responded to the question or whether they have forwarded their ForUM Email to another email account. Seventy-five said no they have not forwarded it to another account while 11 said yes, they have forwarded it to another account.
The next group of questions asked students to rate their satisfaction with the campus network and reliability of computer hardware and software using the 5 point scale where 5 = Very Satisfied and 1 = Not Satisfied. In this group of questions, Reliability of software in the library computer lab received the highest average score with a 4.38 from 81 students. This was followed closely by Reliability of hardware in the library computer lab with an average score of 4.35 from 85 students.
Finally, students were asked to rate their satisfaction with the UM web site, Blackboard, the Administrative system, IT Communications, Internet Performance, Print Management and the Library Computer Lab. In this group of questions, the highest average score from 84 students was for the number of computers available in the library computer lab with an average score of 4.51 from 84 students.
