2009 Staff Survey Results

 

Note: Individual responses are held in strictest confidence and are used solely to help improve technology services provided to the University of Montevallo.

Overall, 62 faculty responded and rated items of importance such as online access to the library, high speed internet, adding online courses, campus email, computer replacement, reliability of the network, and remote access to campus technology and systems using a 5 point scale where 5 = Very Important and 1 = Not Important.  The item of most importance to 56 staff was high speed internet, receiving an average score of 4.95 on the 5 point scale, followed closely by reliability of the network with an average score of 4.92 from 60 staff.

Staff also scored their average satisfaction with the Help Desk and Desktop Technicians on a 5 point scale where 5 = Very Satisfied and 1 = Not Satisfied.  Fifty-five staff members gave the professionalism of the desktop technicians an average score of 4.62; they also gave the knowledge of the desktop technicians an average score of 4.62; this was followed closely by service hours for the desktop technicians with an average score of 4.60 from the 55 staff.

The next group of questions on the faculty survey was satisfaction with the UM web site, Email, Blackboard, Administrative systems, IT Communications, Internet Performance and Technology Consulting and Purchasing.  In this group of questions, the highest average score from 51 staff was for Quality of technology purchasing with a 4.37, followed by a 4.32 for faculty/staff email from 59 staff.

Finally, faculty rated their satisfaction with the campus network and technical support using the 5 point scale.  In this group of questions, Technical support for offices received the highest average score with a 4.48 with 52 staff responding.
