Updated Email Storage Guidelines

One benefit of the recent server virtualization project is increased disk storage capacity.  This change has enabled the expansion of mailbox limits for the Exchange email system that serves faculty and staff.  The new limits are:

• 500 MB limit receives a warning message (increased from the former 110 MB limit),
• sending prohibited limit at 600 MB (increased from the former 130 MB limit), and
• sending/receiving prohibited limit at 650 MB (increased from the former 140 MB limit). 

The increased limits will reduce the need to manage email accounts as rigorously as before; however, good email management will still be very important for each email user.  The "Guide to Email Maintenance" which contains tips to consider in maintaining a healthy email environment can be found at Guide to Email Maintenance.
