Using BCC to Send Email to Multiple Students

 

Because one or more students in your class may have elected to restrict the release of their information, you are asked to send class emails using Blind Carbon Copy (BCC), also known as Courtesy Carbon Copy.  BCC allows you to send emails to multiple individuals while keeping their email addresses hidden from other recipients of your email.  BCC also prevents the inadvertent use of "Reply to all" from sending replies to all other class members.

How to Use Blind Carbon Copy

  1. If the Bcc: field is not visible in your email message, you will need to enable it.
     
  2. Put your email address in the To: field of the email message.
     
  3. Copy and paste your students' email addresses in the Bcc: field of the email message as shown below:
