Enabling BCC When Outlook Uses Microsoft Word as the Text Editor
(Office XP Users)

In some cases, Outlook uses Microsoft Word as the text editor for email.  When this happens the usual method of adding the Bcc: field (i.e., using the View menu) does not work.  Instead, the following procedure should be used:

  1. From the main Outlook window, click Tools, then Options.

  2. In the Options dialog box, select the Mail Format tab.

  3. Look for the check box labeled "Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages."  Uncheck this box.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Open a new email message and use the View menu to show the Bcc: field.

  6. If you want to continue using Microsoft Word as you email text editor, return to the options menu and recheck the "Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages" box.

  7. The Bcc: field will be in all of your MS Word emails.
