From the University of Montevallo homepage, select the Blackboard link under Current Students or under Faculty and Staff.
 

How do I get an account on Blackboard? Back to Top
All registered UM students and faculty teaching a class automatically get a Blackboard account.
 

What is my username/password? Back to Top
To login to Blackboard use the same username and password that you use to login to ForUM..
 

What do I do if I forget or lose my password? Back to Top
If a user forgets or loses their password, they must reset their password by going to the UM Password Change page.  You can also send an email to helpdesk@montevallo.edu.  Be sure to include your contact information and the type of assistance you would like.

Are files uploaded to Blackboard automatically checked for viruses? Back to Top
No. The best way to protect your computer is to have a virus protection program. Contact the Technology Services Help Desk by calling extension (205) 665-6520 or via email at helpdesk@montevallo.edu if you need help.
 

Does Blackboard work with AOL? Back to Top
Yes but do the following after connecting to AOL:

  • Minimize the AOL window
  • Open another web browser (such as Microsoft Internet Explorer)
  • Connect to UM Blackboard
