Computer Services
Macintosh OS 10.4
and the New Daylight Saving
Time Law
Synopsis:
Apple has released an update for OS 10.4 that includes the new DST rules.
This update has been included in Apple's normal software update service.
If your Mac is connected to the University's network and has automatic software
updates enabled, you should already have the DST update installed.
Verification:
To verify that you have the OS 10.4 DST patch installed, check the version
number. If you have OS 10.4.6 or higher, the patch is already installed.

OS 10.3 you're running.

update. No action on your part is required as far as the operating
system is concerned. Proceed to Step 2:
Microsoft Office.
- If you have OS 10.4.5 or lower, please run the Apple Software Updater:
- Choose Software Update from the Apple menu.
- In the Software Update window, select the items you want to
install, then click install.
- Enter an administrative account name and password.
- After the update is complete, restart the computer if required.
- Repeat these steps to see if more updates are now available.
Because some software updates are prerequisites for others, you may need to
repeat these steps several times to complete the software update sequence.
