Synopsis:
Apple has released DST-compliant JRE updates for OS 10.4 and OS 10.3 as part of
their standard software update service. If your Mac is connected to the
University's network and has automatic updates enabled, your computer probably
already has the DST patch installed.
Verification:
Unfortunately, there is no easy way to verify that the DST-compliant version of
JRE is installed on your Mac. Users who wish to be as thorough as possible
on this issue can run Apple's Software Update manually. If your computer
needs the JRE update, it will be included in the files that Software Update
recommends.
Disclaimer:
The potential exists that older applications and websites that use JRE won't be
compatible with newer JRE versions. If you use a JRE-dependent software
product or visit a specific JRE-dependent website as a core function of your
daily work, contact your vendor before applying any JRE updates.
