Older Versions of Windows
and the New Daylight Saving Time Law

 

Synopsis:
Microsoft has not made any means available to update the time zone rules for Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows ME.
 

Workaround:
If you are still using any of these operating systems and wish to continue to do so, you will need to manually change the time on your computer whenever DST begins or ends:

  1. Click the Start button and then click Control Panel.
     
  2. Double-click Date/Time in Control Panel.
     
  3. In the Date/Time window, click the Time Zone tab.
     
  4. Click to clear the "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes" checkbox.
     
  5. Click the Date/Time tab and manually adjust the system time to the correct day and time.
     
  6. Click OK.
