Synopsis:
Computer Services has made every effort to identify software applications in use
on campus that may be affected by the new DST law. The preceding pages
deal with the potential affects of the DST change on operating systems, office
productivity software and internet connectivity software.
Computer Services has also researched other desktop productivity software
applications that are known to be in use on campus to see if any of them have
DST-compliance issues. This research has, for the most part, turned up
very little information. Most third-party software vendors do not appear
to be addressing the DST issue at all (with a few notable exceptions).
Procedure:
Computer Services urges all UM faculty and staff to think about the software
they use at work that had not been addressed in the preceding pages and to
contact their vendors regarding DST-compliance.
For your convenience, you can find a table showing the results of the
research that has already been done here.
As always, Computer Services is available to help with any potential DST issues. Please feel free to call the Computer Services Help Desk at (205) 665-6520 or send an email to helpdesk@montevallo.edu.
