What can you do with a MIS Major?
This major provides students with a versatile background in computer technologies and their business applications.MIS program, offered in Michael E. Stephens College of Business, gives students not only deep computer knowledge in all basic areas of modern information systems, but also teaches how to make effective decisions in developing computerized systems in different organizational settings.The following Courses, totaling 18 credit hours, are required for a major in Management Information Systems:· MIS graduates are trained in programming, systems analysis and design, Internet technologies, databases and information systems, e-commerce, networking and telecommunications.
· Typical jobs for MIS graduates include systems analyst, database administrator, web publisher, programmer, network administrator, computer engineer.· Graduates with computer skills can find a wide variety of jobs in private, public or government organizations
· MIS graduates enjoy one of the highest salaries in the job market· Such MIS professions as system analyst, e-commerce specialist, web publisher top the list of the fastest growing in the next decade.
