Course Overview for  Teacher Leadership Program

 

Students in their cohort groups will follow the courses in the sequence listed below:

Fall Semester:
   ED 690: Professional Standards in Education
   FCS 535: Parent and Family Involvement


Spring Semester:
   EDL 606: Leadership and Mentor Training
   Elective


Summer Semester:
   ED 543: The School Climate
   EDL 612: Public Relations and Community Resources
   EDL 573: Legal and Fiscal Management


The following courses should be taken toward the end of your program:
   ED 691: Research and Planning for School Improvement (Action Research I)
   ED 692: Implementing and Evaluating School Improvement (Action Research II)
 

6 hours of electives must also be taken.  Specific courses will be determined by the student and the student's advisor.

Students may propose receiving credit for intensive professional development activity offered through a school, a district, or the UM Regional Inservice Center.
