About Us
In the spring of 2007 the University of Montevallo’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction formed the Montevallo Connection. The impetus for this group was the Montevallo Educational Compact established in the 1980’s as a joint commitment among the local schools, the city of Montevallo, and the university. Building upon the foundation of the original compact, the purpose of the Montevallo Connection is to re-energize and further strengthen the partnership between the University of Montevallo faculty and the faculty in the Montevallo schools. We are committed to identifying the needs at the university that can be met by Montevallo schools and the needs at Montevallo schools that can be met by the university. More specifically, the Montevallo Connection is dedicated to cultural, educational, and professional exchanges that will enhance the educational experiences of both students in the Montevallo public schools and those at the University of Montevallo.
