A major or minor in Chemistry are offered in the Chemistry department. The major program will prepare students for graduate school, careers in the health professions, or employment in relevant professions. Course selections to advance the students toward these goals are made with the help of the student's advisor.
BS in Chemistry: The student majoring in Chemistry must complete CHEM 121, 122, 221, 222, 230, 321, 322, 450, 491, and 6 hours from CHEM 370, 380, 420, 431 and 440; MATH 170 and 171; PHYS 201 and 202, or 241 and 242.
The student majoring in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry must complete BIO 105, 206, and 307; CHEM 121, 122, 221, 222, 230, 370, 410, 450 and 491; MATH 170; PHYS 201 and 202 or 241 and 242.
Minor in Chemistry: The Chemistry minor consists of CHEM 121, 122, 221, 222, 230 or 235, and 321 or 370 or 450.
