PHYS 540 Laboratory Instruction in Physics      Credit, 1–6 hours
This course provides a comprehensive study of laboratory instruction in the high school laboratory. Through independent study and projects, and through participation in lab preparation and instruction with the Alabama Science in Motion program, students will address practical applications of the lab experience including safety issues, facilities, equipment, techniques, and education goals. Special emphasis will be placed on the development of lab activities that encourage an inquiry approach to learning.

PHYS 550 Introductory Physics Instrumentation      Credit, 3 hours
This course acquaints high school physics teachers with the equipment and lab activities available through the Alabama Science in Motion physics program. Prerequisite: Acceptance into the Level I Physics Training Program of Alabama Science in Motion.

PHYS 552 Advanced Physics Instrumentation      Credit, 3 hours
In-depth view of equipment, as well as more-advanced lab activities available through the Alabama Science in Motion physics program. Prerequisites: Completion of the Level I Physics Training Program of Alabama Science in Motion and current participation in the program.
