Mission Statement

The Alabama Motorcycle Safety Program is dedicated to providing state of the art basic and experienced motorcycle rider education through a student-centered approach. The philosophy of the Alabama Motorcycle Safety Program is that individual responsibility and knowledge are the essential fundamentals that support safe motorcycling. The Alabama Motorcycle Safety Program promotes individual accountability in all aspects of the motorcycling experience, including training. Although there are inherent risks associated with the sport of motorcycling, it is through knowledge application and responsible behavior that the motorcyclist may reduce specific elements of personal risk. The Alabama Motorcycle Safety Program advocates strict adherence to all alcohol, speed, right of way, proper riding gear, and other traffic laws in order to foster the safest riding experience for the individual. Additionally, the Alabama Motorcycle Safety Program promotes the philosophy of “riding within your ability” as well as not being influenced through negative peer pressure.

In keeping with this individual responsibility mindset, the Alabama Motorcycle Safety Program advocates personal responsibility for the attendance at an Alabama Motorcycle Safety Program sponsored training course. It is the responsibility of the motorcycling student (registrant) to be fully aware of the policies governing the attendance requirements of the course in which the student elects to enroll. It is the student’s responsibility to adhere to all time and participation requirements of said course.

The Alabama Motorcycle Safety Program is not in the position to issue refunds for full or partial non-attendance. With a strict cost structure, the Alabama Motorcycle Safety Program is able to provide motorcycle rider training in Alabama at a reasonable cost per individual. It is the responsibility of the student to be aware of the Alabama Motorcycle Safety Program’s pricing and attendance policies prior to registering and paying for a specific motorcycle safety course. Individual circumstances are not within the control of the Alabama Motorcycle Safety Program and thus deviation from this policy is not permitted. Personal accountability is the key to a positive outcome in the course and on the road.
