Jeff Palmer
returns for his third season as head
coach of the University of Montevallo
men's and women's golf programs.
Palmer has been involved in golf in
various capacities for several years,
working as the Head Golf Professional at
Pine Hills Golf Club in Eight Mile, and
as the Assistant Golf Professional at
Vestavia Country Club in Vestavia Hills.
He was also owner/operator of his own
business, responsible for the assembly
and distribution of custom fitted golf
clubs.
More recently, Palmer has been involved
in the forestry industry, serving as
owner and President of Bent River Forest
Products. He also serves on the Board of
Directors for the Shelby County YMCA.
A native of Roswell, Ga., Palmer
received his bachelor of science degree
in physical education and marketing from
the University of Montevallo in 1991. He
was a member of the UM men’s golf
program in 1985 and 1986, and returned
to UM in 1990 and 1991. He was named to
the All-Tournament Team at the Berry
Invitational in 1990.
Palmer, with wife Jenny, a 1991 UM
graduate, daughter Challen, 8, and son
Josh, 1, reside in Birmingham.
