Daniel Hicks returns for his second season of competition with the Montevallo baseball program this season. He will compete for playing time on the mound. Last season Daniel posted a 3-0 record and 5.56 ERA in 34.0 innings. He struck out a season-best five batters and earned a victory against Miles College. He also allowed a run in 5.2 innings with two strikeouts against Angelo State in the NCAA South Central Region Tournament.

Daniel is a transfer to UM from Central Alabama Community College, where he competed for coach Don Ingram, posting a 3-4 record with a save in 26 appearances his freshman season in 2005.

Daniel prepped at Sylacauga High School, where he competed for coach Rick Wade. There, he finished third in SHS history in victories and was named the team Most Valuable Pitcher. A marketing major at UM, he is the son of Jerry and Rebecca Hicks.
