Brantly Clay competes in his fourth and final season of competition with the Falcons. He will be expected to compete for playing time in the outfield. Last season, Brantly was named to the Second Team All-Gulf South Conference and was NCAA South Central Region All-Tournament Team. He appeared in 63 games, starting in 59 games. He batted .325 with eight home runs and 41 RBI. He was one of six Falcons to have 20 or more multiple-hit games and also had 11 multiple-RBI games. Brantly also had an eight-game hitting streak. He went a perfect 5-for-5 with two home runs and 3 RBI against Northwest Missouri.  As a sophomore, Brantly competed in 56 games, starting in 42 games. He was fifth on the team in hitting, (.343), second in stolen bases (14) while collecting seven doubles and 23 RBI. He had 16 multi-hit games, and was 4-for-6 with three RBI and two runs scored against Southern Arkansas at the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament. Clay went 10-for-15 with five RBI and was named to the Regional All-Tournament Team. As a freshman Clay was named Gulf South Conference Co-East Freshman of the Year, competed in 51 games, and started in 35 games. He was second on the team in batting (.356) with one home run and 28 RBI. He was also fourth on the team in base hits (47) and tied for fourth in doubles (11). He also managed to steal 14-of-16 bases. He had 12 multi-hit games, which included a 3-for-3 performance with 2 RBI and a double against Ouachita Baptist. He also drove in three RBI against Lincoln Memorial.

Brantly competed for coach Stacy Hester at New Hope High School, where he lettered four years in both baseball and soccer, received the Hustle Award, Trojan Award, Offensive MVP, NABF World Series MVP, holds the single season batting average and career batting average records for NHHS, and was named All-Area and All-State for three years. He batted .506 in his senior season, and batted .416 in his career.

A business management major at UM, he is the son of Catfish and Malinda Clay.
