Lauren Markle
will compete in her second season of
on-court competition with the Lady
Falcons. Lauren missed the 2006 season
due to injury, and will compete for
playing time as a middle hitter. As a
freshman starter in 2005, she appeared
in 35 matches, She averaged 1.88 kills
and .77 blocks per game.
A native of Metamora, Ill. Lauren was a
two-time Mid State 6 All-Conference
selection and led the conference in
blocks at Peoria Notre Dame High
School. Her team was the Mid State 6
Conference Champions. She also competed
for the Sports Performance Illini Elite
Volleyball club of Bloomington and with
the Metamora Area Swim Team. She
currently holds three medley relay
records at MAST and contributed to the
swim team as a coach as well. Lauren
earned the Student Athlete of the Week
award and was a member of the National
Honor Society.
Lauren is involved with
Campus Outreach, Sigma Alpha Pi and
Alpha Lambda Delta on campus, and she
coaches for the Birmingham Volleyball
Club as well. A Business and Marketing
major at UM, she is the daughter of Ann
Marie and Randy Markle. |
