Shigeyoshi Shinohara returns for his
third season as assistant coach for the
University of Montevallo women’s
soccer program.
A native of Yamaguchi, Japan, Shinohara has been involved for many
years coaching in England, Brazil, and
the U.S. in addition to his native
Japan. Shinohara spent seven yeas as an
assistant coach with the Seiki Football
Club, working with youth aged 10-16, and
also spent one year coaching with the
Torquay United Football Club in Devon,
U.K. Most recently, Shinohara was Office
Manager for the past three years with
the United Soccer Academy in New Jersey.
Shinohara earned his UEFA "B" License in
1998, and has earned an Advanced
National Diploma from the National
Soccer Coaches Association of America.
After high school, Shinohara earned his
bachelor's degree in Economics from
Yamaguchi University in Yamaguchi City,
Japan.
Shinohara is enrolled in the master's
degree program in Counseling.
